A Show of Hands’ celebrates one of printing’s most famous visual icons: the printer’s fist. The exhibition, curated by Tim Jollands of Bath Spa Albion, features more than 90 posters, books and related ephemera from letterpress printers from across the UK, most of which have been produced especially for this exhibition.

Each item offers a unique interpretation of the printer’s fist – humorous, colourful, playful, serious, thoughtful, or surprising.

The preview night, on Monday 18th November, will feature talks from Graham Moss (Incline Press), Dr Holly James-Maddocks (University of York) and Professor Helen Smith (York / Thin Ice Press), and a chance to view Thin Ice Press. Refreshments will be available.
